Adam Dovico, D.Ed.

Dr. Adam Dovico is the Academic Director at the Wake Forest School of Professional Studies for the Master of Curriculum & Instruction and Master of Educational Leadership programs. His work in school transformation, equitable instructional practices, and school leadership has been shared with tens of thousands of educators from around the world through his decade-plus of delivering professional development to schools and districts, keynotes at national conferences, and numerous books and articles that he has written.

Throughout his public speaking, writing, and research, he has remained a practitioner and respected voice in the field by serving as a school leader and teacher in the public schools of North Carolina, allowing him to remain current on educational topics. Over his twenty years as an educator, he has become versed in navigating complex issues in education by bringing diverse voices to the table to address important topics that impact student learning and achievement.

Adam is passionate about equity in the classroom and the teaching profession and has focused much of his research on exploring antiracist pathways for teachers of color to enter and remain in the profession, including his dissertation on motivations of Black males to become elementary teachers. He is excited to return back home to Wake Forest University and be a part of the School of Professional Studies.
