Gorrell P. Cheek, Ph.D.

Gorrell P. Cheek is an accomplished cybersecurity leader. He has strong cross-domain knowledge in business, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence – as well as extensive expertise delivering business-driven solutions in multi-cloud environments. His experience includes leading AI security engineering at JPMorgan Chase, where he designs, builds and deploys AI controls that address emerging risks in both agentic and non-agentic AI systems. Previously, Gorrell served as the CISO at SPX FLOW, guiding global security strategy across more than 30 countries. He also held senior security leadership roles at Western Union and Wachovia, managing global network security and enterprise risk functions. His foundation began in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, where he commanded units and conducted research in labs on emerging technologies and command-and-control systems. Gorrell taught university courses in information security and holds multiple advanced degrees. Outside of work, Gorrell enjoys challenging outdoor adventures such as long-distance hiking, peak climbing and completing the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.
