John Jones is Executive Director of Academic Programs at Wake Forest University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS), where he leads the design and delivery of academic offerings that align with the needs of today’s adult learners. In this role, John works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and industry experts to create accessible, high-impact educational pathways that empower adult learners and promote lifelong learning. With nearly fifteen years of experience in higher education, John brings a strong record of leadership in program strategy, student development and engagement, and operational effectiveness.

Prior to joining Wake Forest, John served in leadership roles at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His work has spanned MBA and certificate programs, enrollment management, and initiatives focused on student engagement and success. At each stage of his career journey, John has distinguished himself by building collaborative teams, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and enhancing student outcomes.

John’s professional passion lies in creating equitable and engaging learning experiences for diverse groups of learners. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Practice and Innovation at the University of South Carolina, with research interests in educational technology and blended/hybrid learning.
