Joseph Atatsi is the Academic Director and Professor of Practice at the School of Professional Studies at Wake Forest University. He is also a Regulator with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he informs policy and conducts risk examinations and investigations on matters relating to broker-dealers and emerging and innovative technologies. He co-chairs the financial technology (FinTech) working group at the SEC. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Florida. His research interests include risk management, emerging and innovative technologies, and regulation. He also holds a Master of Accounting Degree (MAcc) from Bowling Green State University, Ohio; a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) from the University of Florida; and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in Accounting and Information Systems from Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana. He is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Regulatory Compliance Professional.Â
