Program(s):

Tyler Traudt is the co-founder and chief executive officer of DebtBook, a purpose-built treasury and accounting software platform serving public-sector and nonprofit organizations. He founded DebtBook after nearly a decade in public finance, where he saw firsthand how legacy tools hindered strategic decision-making for teams managing complex portfolios of debt and leases.

Tyler began his career in the Public Finance Investment Banking group at Citigroup in New York, developing a foundation in municipal markets and capital structure. He later spent close to eight years as a financial advisor to local governments, higher-education institutions, and healthcare systems at top-ranked firms across the Southeast. During that time, he trained junior colleagues in financial structuring and modeling and developed a conviction that modern, easy-to-use software could help finance teams collaborate more effectively and make faster, better-informed decisions.

In 2019, Tyler co-founded DebtBook to address that need. After nearly two years of building, the company launched just weeks before the COVID-19 shutdowns—a stress test that reinforced its focus on customer empathy and product clarity. Despite the timing, DebtBook scaled rapidly in the years that followed, growing to serve more than 2,000 customers with a team of over 130, while expanding from debt to lease accounting, cash management, and broader treasury workflows.

Tyler has appeared on entrepreneurship and fintech shows such as Beyond the Build and Charlotte Angel Connection, sharing lessons on vertical SaaS, customer discovery, and go-to-market strategy. His insights on modernizing public finance operations have also been featured in Inc., The Bond Buyer, and other industry publications. Across these platforms, he advocates for intuitive products that save time, improve transparency, and help institutions focus on their mission—building stronger communities.

He lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife Holly and their three children.
